Commissions form a significant component of many companies’ salespeople compensation. However, Dynamics 365 Business Central’s standard commission report hinges on sales rather than cash receipts.

Envision a scenario where a salesperson sells a $10,000 product with a 10% commission. The standard report would display a $1,000 commission, even if the customer’s payment is due in 30 days. In reality, if the customer doesn’t remit payment, the salesperson won’t receive the commission.

Traditionally, resolving this requires generating a cash receipt report encompassing all invoices within the period, Identifying commissionable lines within the invoices, often limited to item sales and compiling a comprehensive report outlining the salespeople’s owed amounts.
